Some of you may not have noticed lately, (especially with all the street repairs going on along First Street), that the East Village has a new design studio and gallery! Well it's true! Thanks to the heart and dreams of Roland Quirion and his business partner Charles Pacheco, the grand opening of [gallery] AD + D took place on June 6th, 2009.

Roland and Charles have a mission that resonates with many of us in heart and mind. That being, the desire to both integrate and give back to their community, Although they have lived in Long Beach for five years, they have now decided to take an active role in bringing more interest and Art back to the East Village.

[gallery] AD + D's collection is eclectic and suitable for most tastes and pocketbooks. Prices range from a more than reasonable $15, to the higher end at $18,000. I found it quite enjoyable to wander among the beautiful displays, from 60's Pop Art, Stickley Bros. furniture and their awesome array of collectables to the exquisite works by well-known artists work such as Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney and others. Also on exhibit, are numerous works by a variety of South American artists including Monica van Asperen. Treat yourself while supporting the East Village and the Arts. Drop by gallery AD + D soon!
