La Muse East Village Café by Louise Kripal

La Muse East Village Café located in the historic Cooper Arms building is the brainchild of owner Christine DiSandro. Christine was new to the restaurant business at the time of her opening in April 2000, though she had always wanted to have a business where people had a place to gather to exchange ideas and explore their muse.

She had envisioned a comfortable environment somewhat like the Parisian clubs and cafés of the 30 and 40's. La Muse serves this purpose perfectly with its outstanding architecture, European décor, work by local artists (currently on display are acrylics by Thea Robertshaw), lush garden and its eclectic menu with a mix of French and Italian specialties as well as traditional American fare.

La Muse also serves beer and provides an extensive wine assortment.

The garden area is available for special events. Catering is also available. Future events at a La Muse include original music by singer/musician-Alex Nervo later in July.

Hours: Open daily at 9am. Closed Mon & Tues. at 3pm, Wed. thru Sat. close at 9 to 10. Sunday close at 6pm.

La Muse is located at 455 E. Ocean Boulevard. For more information you can call them at (562) 432-1965 or visit their website at www.LaMuseCafe.com.
